I was looking for how to make homemade Teriyaki sauce one day and came across this recipe. I made a few changes since there wasn’t enough sauce, so here is my version of the recipe.
Oven Roasted Teriyaki Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
-
2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1/2 cup sugar (or Splenda)
- 1/2 cup granulated brown sugar
- 1 cup soy sauce (lite to reduce salt)
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 12 skinless chicken thighs
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees
-
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the cornstarch, cold water, sugar (both), soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger and ground black pepper. Let simmer, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens and bubbles.
-
Place chicken pieces in a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Brush chicken with the sauce. Turn pieces over, and brush again.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Turn pieces over, and bake for another 20 minutes, until no longer pink and juices run clear. Brush with sauce every 10 minutes during cooking.
