I decided that I’m giving Linux another shot. It’s come along away over the years since I last used it at school. It’s much easier to use now and pretty much fully integrates with all hardware we use today.
I just got tired of how slow Windows was getting even though I wasn’t even running anything. I have eight month old hardware, no reason why I should see a performance degradation already.
So I’ve chosen and installed Ubuntu on my desktop at home. 90% of what I do is look at crap online and pay bills anyway, could do that from any platform really.
Just in case I really need something from Microsoft I saved my current state in an image and loaded it up into a virtual machine using Oracle’s Virtualbox.
If you’re handy enough with computers give it a shot. You can load it on your Windows pc and dual-boot it. Even that they made much, much easier than before.
